Dr. Crystal Broussard is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of practice experience with individuals and families.  She earned both her PhD (2016) and Master of Social Work (2003) degrees from The University of Alabama.   

Crystal is a trauma-informed clinician who embraces person-centered and strengths-based work as a path to self-liberation.  She has worked with clients of all ages utilizing a lifespan perspective to help them better understand their mental health journey.  Crystal specializes in stress and adjustment management, anxiety and depression treatment, social anxiety, and eating disorders.  Crystal uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-informed therapy (DBT) and skills-training, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify and address areas they would like to improve. 

Crystal is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tulane University’s School of Social Work and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for over 13 years.  Her experience makes her particularly effective helping college students and young professionals manage stress related to college and transitioning to post-college professional employment.

Crystal also works with families and couples to improve communication and family cohesion using Family Systems Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method.

Outside of work, Crystal is very active in two Mardi Gras krewes and frequently parades in costume throughout the year.
