Crystal Broussard, PhD, LCSW

Crystal Broussard earned her PhD in Social Work (2016) and Master of Social (2003) at The University of Alabama. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has practiced several years in hospital and hospice settings in Baltimore, MD, Birmingham, AL, and New Orleans.  Crystal is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tulane University’s School of Social Work teaching undergraduate and graduate classes.  She is also a faculty member of Tulane’s Center for Aging and serves on the program committee for the Interdisciplinary PhD in Aging Studies.

Crystal is a trauma-informed clinician who embraces person-centered and strengths-based work as the path to self-liberation.  She is skilled in grief and bereavement, stress and adjustment management, anxiety, substance use, self-care practices, and managing professional burnout.

Outside of work, Crystal is very active in her mardi gras krewe and frequently parades in costume throughout the year.  She spends the whole year preparing for each carnival season by glittering and rhinestoning handmade throws to hand out on the parade route.
