Hi! My name is Ashlie Martinez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have called New Orleans my home for the last 12 years. I graduated with my undergraduate and graduate degree in Social Work from Hardin-Simmons University and Abilene Christian University. I began my career in medical social work with two years in dialysis and seven years an organ transplant at Ochsner where I specialized in Kidney and Lung Transplant. I then decided to step into the career of mental health. In 2020, in the midst of Covid, I moved to Ochsner Psychiatry where I was able to discover a love of psychotherapy. This opened up a whole new avenue of skills and treatments.

Ashlie prides herself for offering an open and non judgmental space. She is certified in meditation teaching since 2020 through a program called The Path, which allows her the specialize in the unique treatment of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MSBR). This also allows her to be able to provide Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Ashlie also provides treatments for anxiety/OCD, grief/ loss, ADHD, chronic illnesses, work/school stress, self-criticism, sleep health, sleep and nightmare disorders,  basic needs for skills teaching, and mood disorders. She has in  in experience working with a broad range of issues affecting older teens, college students, and adults. Along with the treatment methods offered above, Ashlie also is trained in and provides, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), General Mindfulness teaching, and Image Reimagining Therapy (IRT-for nightmare disorders)

Outside of Ashlie’s therapy practice she has a passionate love for animals, especially her husky. Ashlie also has a deep love of art for which you may see some of on the office walls.

Ashlie is currently working on her certification for animal assisted training and has a companion that she brings who is also in training with the expectation to be completed in 2024.
