In graduate school at the University of Oregon, classmates voted Rae as “the most likely to sit with you and help you brainstorm solutions, after giving you the best feeling of validation.” Rae brings this energy to the therapy room, encouraging you to support and accept yourself so that you can move forward and create the change you want to see.  She offers open, wholehearted welcome and appreciation – but also challenges you to move outside your comfort zone, because change doesn’t happen when you  stick to what’s familiar.

Rae draws from several modalities in the therapy room. She’s trained in Emotionally Focused Couples therapy, which she uses heavily with folks in distressed relationships.  She also incorporates  elements of systemic theory, Internal Family Systems Therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness practices.

Rae especially enjoys working with couples, trauma survivors, and college and graduate students. She’s passionate about social justice and removing barriers to mental health, and welcomes all sexual orientations and gender identities. She is a kink-aware, poly-affirming counselor.

Outside of doing therapy (which she loves), Rae enjoys reading and watching science fiction and fantasy, gardening, and needlework. She and her family recently moved to New Orleans from the west coast and they are excited to discover all that their new home has to offer!
