Lisa Ibekwe is a therapist who is passionate about her work with youth and adolescents. She was a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania and is currently a Licensed Master’s Social Worker in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been in the field of Social Work since 2015 and has amassed skills providing direct clinical services to youth and adolescents and indirect consultation services on program development for youth serving programs. She graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s in Biology and Psychology. She then obtained her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh where she also attained certificates in working with Children, Youth, & Families and Human Service Management.
She began her career working with youth with Developmental Disabilities and Autism in Pennsylvania. After moving to Georgia, she transitioned into working with youth experiencing Behavioral and Mental Health disorders. She developed competence working with youth and adolescents with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma. She has practiced trauma related treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings with children and adolescents and is currently working towards a specialized trauma certification. She also has experience working on Life Skills, Independent Living Skills, and facilitating Life Coaching with adolescents and young adults. Throughout her career she has worked with individuals, adolescents, children, and families of all ages. She is committed to involving the family in the therapeutic process in her work with children and adolescents and is passionate about creating a secure and fun environment for children to heal and grow. Lisa encourages and supports youth and adolescents on their journey of self-discovery and promotes independence throughout the lifespan. Lisa offers a compassionate and safe environment through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and various Behavior Therapy techniques.
